The seminar, hosted by the Swiss Embassy, served as launch event for RRT’s new “In their Own Voices” publication, which was developed in the framework of this project and presents testimonies of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in Turkey reflecting their experiences, challenges and aspirations. Presentations were made by RRT child protection program staff about the process for the making of the publication as well as the broader framework for the protection of unaccompanied asylum seekers in Turkey. The participants, including representatives of UNESCO, UNHCR and other relevant international organizations and Embassies based in Ankara, also heard testimonies by two asylum seekers who have arrived in Turkey as minors and came of age recently while in state care.
