As the Refugee Rights Türkiye, in cooperation with the Human Rights Center of the Antalya Bar Association, we organized a seminar for lawyers titled “Deportation Procedures, Administrative Detention, and Alternatives under Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection” on November 29, 2025, in Antalya. During the seminar, we addressed the legal framework, international standards, landmark case law, as well as practical challenges encountered in the field and possible solutions concerning international protection, deportation procedures, administrative detention, and alternatives to detention.
The seminar, which included presentations and case studies by experts from the Refugee Rights Türkiye, aimed to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge to colleagues interested in the field of migration and asylum. It also sought to facilitate the exchange of case law and good practices with experienced practitioners working in this area. Enriched by the valuable contributions of participants from the Antalya Bar Association, the seminar was implemented within the scope of a grant from the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
