The Global Family Reunification Network (FRUN) has published its new report, “Mapping of Good Practices in Family Reunification for Unaccompanied and Separated Children and Adolescents.”
Bringing together examples from different countries, the report highlights good practices aimed at facilitating access to family reunification for unaccompanied and separated children. Refugee Rights Türkiye’s (RRT) work in Türkiye is featured in two areas of good practice.
Under the section on timely, accessible, and accurate information, the report highlights RRT’s efforts to provide unaccompanied and separated children with information about their rights and family reunification procedures in multiple languages and accessible formats.
Under case management and integration support, the report features RRT’s specialized legal case management services for unaccompanied children. It highlights RRT’s support throughout family reunification procedures, including coordination with family members and legal representatives in destination countries, assistance with consular and embassy procedures, coordination with relevant Turkish authorities, pre-departure support, and legal assistance in challenging negative decisions.
The report also includes “Reuniting Families: Opportunities and Challenges for Refugees in Turkey,” published jointly by RRT and Refugee Solidarity Network (RSN) in 2022, in its Recommended Reading section.
Refugee Rights Türkiye remains committed to supporting unaccompanied and separated children in accessing their right to family unity and to addressing the legal and practical barriers they face throughout family reunification procedures.
