On 29 June 2026, in cooperation with the Association for Solidarity with Afghans, we held an in-person group information session for refugees living in Uşak on the international protection procedure, negative decisions that may be issued during the procedure and remedies against such decisions, as well as rights and obligations in relation to deportation and administrative detention practices.
During the session, which attracted strong interest from a large group of refugees, participants had the opportunity to ask questions both on the administrative procedures and legal remedies covered by the seminar, and on access to rights and services, particularly the rights to health and education.
As Refugee Rights Türkiye, we had previously held online information sessions with the Uşak Association for Solidarity with Afghans on various topics. We were very pleased that this first in-person seminar gave us the opportunity to meet with the Afghan refugee community living in Uşak, some of whom have been settled there for a long time and others more recently, and to better observe and listen to the community’s needs.
Refugee-led civil society organizations established by refugees, including the Uşak Association for Solidarity with Afghans, play a particularly important role in reaching communities. We thank them for their cooperation.
